Research to determine the decorative history of the room

wimpole1

Background & Brief

Research is required to inform the National Trust’s proposed representation of the Breakfast Room of Wimpole Hall. The intention is to identify and replicate an historic scheme of period 1936 -1976, the occupancy of Captain and Mrs George Bambridge. The National Trust took over the care of Wimpole Hall in 1976. One of the aims of the research is to establish the works carried out after 1976. It is believed that no works have been carried out within the Breakfast Room since 1984. The Trust is also interested in establishing the early history of the room to achieve a fuller understanding of the development of Wimpole and inform future management decisions.
